Spring Creek Golf Club's course is a challenging 6776 yard layout with watered fairways and spacious greens which roll as true as any that you've played. Throw in a small lake and a spring fed creek that runs through the course and you have the makings for a gem of a golf course that's enjoyed by golfers of all skill levels. It's truly one of the finest 9-hole courses in South Central Missouri. The course ratings and slope are; Blue Tee 71.5 /121, White 70.8/118, Red/Yellow 72.0/113.

Designed by Floyd Farley, ASGCA, the Salem golf course opened in 1969, and plays as follows:

#1- 445 yards from the back tee, par 4, (par 5 for the ladies) this is the number one handicap hole on the course. Trees down the left side of the fairway with out of bounds on the right. Your 2nd shot will be a lengthy one into a large green with sand bunkers on each side.

#2- 372 yards from the back tee, par 4, a slight draw off of this tee box is preferable to set up a good approach shot. There are trees on both sides of the fairway with those on the right being more treacherous especially since the right side of the fairway slopes toward them. There's also a tree located in the right side of this fairway. The green is large and slopes toward you. Pay attention to the pin setting because side hill puts can be an adventure, making a two putt most challenging.

#3- 179 yards from the back tee, par 3, the tee box is tiered and elevated overlooking a spacious green with undulated edges. Take special note of the presence of wind here as the tee box is often times shielded from the prevailing wind direction. Beware of the creek directly behind the green as a long shot brings it into play.

#4- 557 yards from the back tee, par 5, only the long hitters can get home in 2 here. This hole is a dog-leg right over a small lake. Your tee shot will require both length and accuracy to clear the tree line on the right side of this fairway and set up an opportunity to reach the green. Out of bounds runs down the right from tee to green as you approach a very large green protected by sand bunkers on each side.

#5- 167 yards from the back tee, par 3, this is a pretty straight away par three but requires your tee shot to be on target. Miss to the left and you'll encounter a bunker or a view obstructed chip shot back up a tall slope.
Miss to the right and you have out of bounds or a chipping encounter with a pronounced berm. If there's wind present, it will likely be in your face.

#6- 405 yards from the back tee, par 4, this hole is where the course begins to open up but there are still numerous trees that come into play if you miss your tee shot by much. A slight draw from the tee will take a large pine tree on the right side of the fairway out of play. A well hit second shot creates a great birdie opportunity on one of the flatter greens on the course. The creek comes into play if you miss to the left and there's a large sand bunker located on the right.

#7- 372 yards from the back tee, par 4, a great hole for long hitters with a well placed tee shot to make birdie. The fairway is however narrowed by large pine trees; one immediately in the fairway on the right and clusters that come into play on the right and left near the landing area. Your second shot will be up hill and blind into another of our easier to putt flat greens.

#8- 390 yards from the back tee, par 4, (par 5 for the ladies) a well placed tee shot coming out of a tree lined shoot is essential. Out of bounds comes into play pretty quickly if you miss. The hole is a slight dog leg to the right so a fade is most beneficial to 2nd shot position. The green is large and slopes toward the fairway to create putts with a lot of break. There are sand bunkers on both sides of this green. This is the second most difficult hole on the course and two good shots are critical to scoring well on it. You can count on any presence of wind being directly in your face here.
#9- 501 yards from the back tee, par 5, this is a high risk/reward hole. The creek comes into play from the tee for long hitters. Your tee shot will dictate the possibility of reaching this green in two. If you're not near the creek off the tee, lay up left of the large maple tree in front of the green that obstructs approach from the right side of the fairway. There's a large bunker that guards the left side of the green and the fairway slopes away to the right. Most eagles that are made here are chipped in due to the degree of difficulty hitting and holding balls on the putting surface. The green also slopes dramatically which can make for a putting adventure.
